Standard Materials

Ck 67 (1.1231)

This spring steel is a cost-effective material for lower stress applications. It is used exclusively for Group 1 springs (disc thickness < 1.25 mm) to DIN 2093. In special cases it may also be used for disc springs with a thickness of up to 4 mm.

50 CrV 4 (1.8159)

50 CrV 4 is the most commonly used material for disc springs. Because of its high alloy content, it offers the best spring properties in the temperature range - 15° C to + 150° C. If a reduction in durability is acceptable, this material can be used at temperatures down to - 25° C. With hot-presetting the material can be used at temperatures up to + 200° C. It exhibits lower relaxation when compared with non-alloy steels.

51 CrMoV 4 (1.7701)

51 CrMoV 4 has properties similar to 50 CrV 4. Due to the addition of molybdenum, parts with a material thickness of up to 40 mm can easily be through-hardened. Because of its higher ductility, 50 CrMoV 4 exhibits better properties than 50 CrV 4 in the range 0° C to -20° C.
