Production Process

Different bending processes are available to create the ideal component contours. To prevent cracks during bending and to significantly reduce production tolerances, an automatic welding seam detection and positioning system is integrated into the production process.

● Pre-rolling and milling:

Pre-rolling and milling the rods allow for high-precision notch designs. Thin-walled tubes can now be used thanks to the introduction of this technology into production. Thus, the weight of headrest supports has been reduced by up to 25% over standard tube supports or rods.

● Stamping:

As an alternative to pre-rolling and milling, the notches can also be developed by stamping them on an inboard mandrel. This allows for production of "curved" notches. In addition, this process lowers production costs since deburring is not required.

Mubea uses its own test machines to test static bending moments. Realtime prototype production is possible using systems that are identical or similar to the standard production systems.

The transfer lines and tools for the manufacture of headrest supports and retaining rods are designed and constructed in our in-house shops in close cooperation with product development.

Implementation is mostly performed by our in-house tool manufacturing department.
